Where Can I Watch Episodes of the Expanse
This Is Us is not a show that you should watch alone if you can help it. The NBC drama series follows the Pearson family across several generations from married couple Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) to their three children Randall (Sterling K. Brown), Kate (Chrissy Metz), and Kevin (Justin Hartley) as they move from childhood to adulthood.
As close as the characters are on the series, the actors are super tight in real life. From matching Screen Actors Guild Awards dresses to parenting the tiny versions of the Big Three on set, and even two actors who always watch the episodes together, the This Is Us cast have a bond that can't be broken.
Great minds think alike
Spending long hours together on set has obviously put the This Is Us actresses on the same wavelength. In fact, at the 24th Screen Actor's Guild Awards in Jan. 2018, Chrissy Metz, Mandy Moore, and Susan Kelechi Watson all showed up in dresses that were the exact same shade of blue.
Moore told explained on Instagram, "Oh and this was NOT planned. The Pearson ladies all showed in the same shade of blue by pure coincidence."
Next : The father of the group
Papa Pearson
As much as Milo Ventimiglia's Jack is adored as one of the greatest fathers to ever grace our television screens, Ventimiglia also takes on that protective patriarchal role on set.
He explained to US Weekly, "I'm definitely the father, [Mandy Moore's] definitely the mother. But I think we both feel protective of our group. Not just our cast but our entire group. There is a level of looking out for everyone. I know Susan [Kelechi Watson] has called me Papa Pearson or Papa Bear before. So if she says it it must be true."
Next : Proud parents
Parenting the littles
Ventimiglia and Moore also spend a great deal of time with the youngest versions of Kate (Mackenzie Hancsicsak), Randall (Lonnie Chavis), and Kevin (Parker Bates). Out of the Big Three, it's Kate who has the closest bond with Jack. According to Hancsicsak, that bond was easy to relive on screen considering how close she and her on-screen siblings are to Ventimiglia and Moore. She told InStyle Magazine,
Mandy and Milo are awesome. They were both child actors like we all are, so they know exactly how we feel. They're the first ones to hug us when we see them on set. Milo gave us all little wooden tops to keep in our pockets, and he also brought in an old Gameboy and games for us to play with on set. Mandy also gave me her favorite lip gloss, which was very special to me. And they always take pictures of us and post them like they are our parents and are proud of us. I really love them.

Partner in crime
Moore and Ventimiglia who play husband and wife Rebecca and Jack Pearson on This Is Us are particularly close. In fact, they have watched nearly all of the This Is Us episodes together. Moore explained to The Huffington Post,
I try to watch the episodes with Milo. We have watched every episode except one together for the entire history of the show. Yesterday I worked early in the day, he didn't work at all, and we were both running around doing other things, but then we met up back at the studio and watched the episode that aired last night right before it aired in [This Is Us creator] Dan [Fogelman]'s office. It's like our little tradition.
Next : Poking fun
The engagement debacle
Though Moore hasn't publically acknowledged her engagement to her fiancé Taylor Goldsmith, Brown and Ventimiglia were happy to poke a little fun at her while wishing her congratulations during a Sept. 2017 appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Ventimiglia said jokingly, "I didn't get asked for her hand in marriage, like, TV husband, but at the same time, I was okay with it. Taylor is the kindest soul, and as [for] Mandy, she is the most beautiful of human beings, so the two of them come together and it's right and it's good."
Next : An emotional rollercoaster
Pushing through
It's wonderful that the cast and crew on This Is Us are so close, especially since the series deals with some very painful themes. In fact, after filming the fire episode and watching Jack succumb to a heart attack due to smoke inhalation, Moore felt the repercussions of it all. She described it to The Huffington Post,
I feel like it's taken a toll on me this year. Emotionally, it's a lot. I feel like it's manifested itself in other ways. Like I had a terrible stomachache out of the blue a couple of weeks ago, just out of nowhere, and I think it was the stress of moving and all of the emotional work I've been doing. I racked my brain, I was like, "What did I eat? What did I do?" And nothing out of the ordinary had changed. So yeah, I think it definitely finds a way to sneak up on you.

The best job
The most amazing part about This Is Us is that as much as people love it, the actors enjoy working on the show. Ventimiglia chatted with US Weekly about it all.
He said, "It's nice to be a support team for them. And that's everyone on the show — Chrissy and Mandy and Sully [Chris Sullivan] and Susan. Everyone is really, really embracing who these characters are and living them to the fullest. It's been one of the best jobs I've ever had."
